Fatoş Üstek

Based in London, UK, Fatoş Üstek is an independent curator and writer from Istanbul, Turkey. She currently acts as Art Fund curator at fig-2, editing a publication for the project fig-2, 50 exhibitions in 50 weeks that she curated throughout 2015 at the ICA Studio, London. Formerly, Üstek has acted as an Associate Curator for the 10th Gwangju Biennale, South Korea, under the artistic direction of Jessica Morgan. Üstek is a member of AICA UK, and a regular contributor to international art magazines and exhibition catalogues. She has curated An Opera in Five Acts, DRAF, London; an exhibition trilogy titled Now Expanded, Kunstfabrik, Berlin; Tent, Rotterdam; and DRAF, London; including various group shows in Europe, Far East, and Western Asia, Turkey. Üstek is the co-founding editor of Nowiswere Contemporary Art Magazine and actively actively involved with it between 2008-2012. She is also the editor of Unexpected Encounters. Situations of Contemporary Art and Architecture Since 2000; and the author of Book of Confusions. Üstek is a core member of artistic research group OuUnpO and leads research projects La Duree with Per Huttner under the framework of Vision Forum.
