Estonian artists in Paris

From October through to November, altogether 5 Estonian artists will participate at art fairs and exhibitions in Paris.

 

On Tuesday, 20th October, the inaugural edition of Paris Internationale art fair will open in a venue near Arc de Triomphe. The art fair that has already been set high expectations by the media includes 40 galleries from Europe and the United States. Temnikova & Kasela gallery will be exhibiting works by the Estonian artist Kris Lemsalu, and a joint project by the London-based artists Dan Mitchell and Gili Tal, who have previously also exhibited in Tallinn. The Estonian artist Kris Lemsalu will make her first art fair appearance in Europe after highly successful participation at Frieze Art Fair New York this May.

 

Estonian artist Katrin Koskaru, represented by the Paris-based gallery Pascaline Mulliez, will participate at YIA Art Fair, opening on Thursday, 22nd October. Katrin will exhibit her new series of small-scale paintings, Metadata, completed during her residency in Paris and examining the development of military technology. In parallel to the art fair, Katrin’s work is included to a group show, Explosive Standards, on view through 30th October at the Paris-based La Petite Gallerie.

 

From 12th through to 15th November Temnikova & Kasela gallery will participate for the first time at Paris Photo art fair. The gallery will be exhibiting a selection of artworks by the Estonian artists Sigrid Viir, Jaanus Samma, and Krista Mölder. Held biannually in Paris and Los Angeles, Paris Photo is one of the most prestigious art fairs with a focus on photography and related media.
