Flyer for the ‘Via Baltic’ project
Estonian artists and Okapi Gallery in New York and Panevežys
Okapi Gallery will take part in the 8th Photoville Festival in New York. The gallery presents the project ‘Via Baltic’ by Estonian artist Temuri Hvingija and Mexican artist Niña Yhared. Photoville festival is New York’s largest annual photo-art event.
In addition to participating in Photoville, Okapi Gallery is presenting a solargraphy project called ‘Sun in a Tin’ by Kristian Saks at the Panevėžys Photo Gallery.

Lugemik in New York
Lugemik will participate in the NY Art Book Fair for the 7th time and is this time invited to give a presentation as part of the Classroom programme. Lugemik will present their recent exhibition ‘Published by Lugemik. Printed matter from 2010–2019’ as well as the catalogue published on the occasion. The presentation will include readings by two contributors of the publication, Mia Kang (US) and Lieven Lahaye (BE).
Four more new publications will be launched during the fair:
‘Borrowing Positions: Role-Playing Design & Architecture’ by Ott Kagovere, Kaisa Karvinen and Tommi Vasko is dealing with design and architecture LARPs (Live Action Role-Playing) that are events organized by the Trojan Horse collective from Finland.
‘Empty Coats’, a new artists’ book by August Krogan-Roley, was published on the occasion of the exhibition by the same title at Kogo Gallery.
‘Abstraction as an Open Experiment’, edited by Mari Laanemets, brings Sirje Runge’s oeuvre into dialogue with works by Zofia Kulik, Dóra Maurer and Falke Pisano. Published following the exhibition of the same title at Tallinn Art Hall.
‘Short Term Eternity’ by Gordon Matta-Clark and Anu Vahtra, published on the occasion of ‘Gordon Matta-Clark: Anarchitect. Anu Vahtra: Completion through removal’, an exhibition at Kumu Art Museum in Tallinn. Presentation to be announced.

Kogo Gallery will take part in the 8th edition of Unseen Amsterdam. Being the first Estonian gallery to participate in the fair, Kogo will present Mari-Leen Kiipli’s 2017 project ‘Passiflora’ as well as new works from the series ‘Passiflora Incarnata’ in Amsterdam. Unseen is an international platform dedicated to contemporary photography practices.

Annika Haas in Uppsala and Kuala Lumpur
Annika Haas will take part in Uppsala Foto Festival presenting works from her projects ‘Plane Watchers’, ‘Anatomy of the Muslim Community in Estonia’ and ‘We, the Roma’. As part of the festival’s programme, the artist will give a talk on documentary photography and Estonian subcultural communities.
In addition to Uppsala Foto Festival, Annika Haas’ work is also featured in the exhibition of Kuala Lumpur International Photoawards 2019. Displayed in ILHAM Gallery, Kuala Lumpur, the exhibition introduces the winners and finalists of the contest. Annika Haas won 3rd prize with her photograph ‘Hendrik’ (2019). After Kuala Lumpur, the exhibition will continue on to New Zealand, South Korea, Japan and Italy.

Marge Monko in Amsterdam
Marge Monko’s work ‘Flawless, Seamless II’ (2019) has been on display at Boven’t Y Winkelcentrum in Amsterdam since the beginning of July. Her work is part of the project ‘Shelf Life’ introducing Kunsthalle Amsterdam due to open in Amsterdam Noord in 2020. The project is curated by the Dutch curator Bas Hendrikx and also features works by Femke Herregraven (NL), Bruno Zhu (NL) and Elise van Mourik (BE/NL)
